Resurfacing of roads in Paarden Eiland

The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate would like to inform the public of intended roadworks along Marine Drive and Service Road in Paarden Eiland. This maintenance is scheduled to take place from today, 24 May 2024, until Tuesday, 11 June 2024, from 07:30 to 17:00, on weekdays. Some of the work will be done on Saturdays, between 07:30 and 17:00.
The roadworks will take place along Marine Drive and Service Road from Neptune Street to Black River Bridge Crossing.
The scope of work includes:
- Resurfacing of the above-mentioned roads.
- Repairing of bridge joints which will be carried out on the Black River Bridge crossing along Marine Drive Service Road.
- Additional general cleaning of the stormwater infrastructure.
'The City that works for you is once again at it, and this time we are ensuring that Marine Drive and Service Road in Paarden Eiland are in a good condition. The roadworks being carried out will ensure that businesses and their clients in this area get to drive on safe, quality roads. We thank all road users making use of this road for their patience. There will be a bit of noise and dust, but we assure you that this short wait will be worth it,' said the City's Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.
